J.E.T.S. ”SCHOOL YEAR” SCHEDULE HAS BEGUN!!
We are so happy to see so many familiar faces back for the school year!
WELCOME TO ALL OF OUR NEW FAMILIES TO THE PROGRAM FOR THE 2010-2011 “SCHOOL YEAR SCHEDULE”
A few reminders from J.E.T.S.
1.)We have locker rooms for our students. These are located on the lower level in the middle of the hallway. (1/2 way between the ramp and stairs) – when your child arrives at J.E.T.S. please have them “change” or leave their shoes, jackets etc. in a “cubie”, use the restroom if necessary, then go to their class.
2.)Preschool students have their own special “Jungle Rooms” for class. This allows for focus, safety & overall structure for our younger students. Coaches will meet students in the waiting room and escort them into their class. Please try and be on time for your class so we don’t have children or parents opening the door and disrupting all classes because they are running in late.
3.)Play area available for siblings & parents. On the lower level next to the preschool gym we have a play area for siblings and observation area for parents of preschool gymnasts
4.)Dance Studios – J.E.T.S. offers “Dance” for ages 2 & up. Please stop by the J.E.T.S. office for details
5.)Pro Shop – We have lots of exciting gymnastics and dance gear. Stop by and shop.
6.)Wireless Internet – Available for our “parent” who want/need to work or use class time to catch up. If you can’t log on, please stop by the J.E.T.S. office for assistance.
7.)Preschool & School Age Open gym are now available in their own gyms. Preschool students will now have their open gym in their own “Jungle Room”. Again, for safety and helping small students feel more comfortable they have their own “space” to run, jump and play. Please note parents are not allowed on the equipment at open gym.
8.)Additional Parking Available at next door – As part of the “family of offices” in our cul-du-sac we are able share parking lots with the Social Security office and those stores after 5:00 p.m. and the KinderCare facility after 6:00. Certainly “on street” parking is available as well. Please be extra careful with any parking option used. There are lots of little ones around at all times. Please take extra time to double and triple check for anyone in and around your vehicle.
Kid’s Night Out is back in full swing!!!! – Kids’ Night Out resumes on Friday 9/10/10. Every Friday night during the school year is “Kid’s Night Out” at J.E.T.S. From 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Parent’s can drop off the kids for a fun night at J.E.T.S. while mom & dad have some time alone……… ;-) Maybe even a date!!!!!! Kids can be dropped off from7:00 to 7:30, the doors will be open during that time. At 7:30 the front doors are locked to ensure safety for all the kids. Kids CAN be dropped off after 7:30, however you need to call 507-285-9262 and a J.E.T.S. staff member will meet you at the front doors to personally greet you and check in your child. For Pickup, the doors will open at 10:45 for general pickup. You of course may pick up anytime before 10:45 however you must call the J.E.T.S. #507-285-9262 to arrange your child’s pick up. A J.E.T.S. staff member will bring your child(ren) to the front doors when you call. All children must be picked up by 11:00. It is huge fun for children “potty trained” and up. Cost is $15.00 for members, $18.00 for non-members. Reservations are appreciated however, not required. Hope to see you on Friday!!!
Picture Weeks in October – The week of Oct 4th – 9th will be Pre-School Picture week. All pre-school classes will have group and individual pictures taken at the start of their regular classes. Students should be dressed in J.E.T.S. leos or J.E.T.S. t-shirt and shorts for the pictures. Please meet their coaches in front of the Green Dance Studio at the start of class time. After pictures are taken, the students will be taken to the pre-school room for their class. The week of Oct 11th – 16th will be Rec Picture week. Students will follow the same procedure as the pre-schoolers except they will be taken to the rec floor to continue class. Extra picture forms will be available the day of pictures in the office. J.E.T.S. Dance Facility continues to be a great addition to our curriculum: Benefiting all ages from “Mommy & Me” dance beginning at age 2 to adult. J.E.T.S. has “dance” for ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop and more. J.E.T.S. classes are session based concluding with a recital/performance in December themed, “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. The recital will have fabulous costumes, a creative story line and great fun for the children who perform and the adults who attend. If you haven’t signed up for dance yet we still have spaces available. This is a great way for your child to learn to perform and be a “star!” In addition to the sessions we also offer trial classes and mommy and me classes on a monthly basis. We are so excited to be offering dance again this year! Please stop by with any questions regarding the benefits of dance on its own or in addition to your current gymnastics class(es).
J.E.T.S. FIGHTER CLASSIC COMING– Three times per year we have the “J.E.T.S. FIGHTER CLASSIC”. This is a great event where our gymnasts get to display their triumphs and achievements in a “gymnastics meet” style performance for family and friends. Every “J.E.T.S. FIGHTER CLASSIC” event will conclude with a Medal Award Ceremony where every athlete will proudly receive their own medal for their event(s) for a job well done. Parents, most of all, this is a chance to see the “behind the scenes” magic of your investment in your child’s gymnastic education. Oh sure, you’ll see lots of cartwheels…. But far and beyond you’ll see children in “transformation”—through the learned qualities of confidence, problem solving, perseverance, goal setting and concentration. As most of you are aware, there’s a whole lot more to J.E.T.S. Gymnastics than just “cartwheels”. Preschool gymnasts will have a coach side by side with them during the JFC performance. All routines & sign up forms will be handed out in class over the next few weeks for the Sky Raiders, Sky Warriors, Sky Hawks, Thunderbirds, Apache and Black Hawks. If your gymnast does not receive theirs by Sept 26th stop by the office and pick one up. Please watch for the announcements for date & sign up information coming soon. Open Gym schedule for the school year is available – Weekly we will be having preschool (5 and under only) open gym on Mondays and Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Wednesdays & Thursdays 1:00p.m. to 2:30p.m. and then “all age” open gym on Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In addition to these regularly scheduled open gym events there will be additional open gym times scheduled throughout the school year on “schools out” days. Days of MEA, President’s Day, District Days etc. are all examples of days where additional “open gyms” will be available. Cost for open gym is: $5.00 for members/$7.00 for non-members for 1 ½ hour open gym and $7.00 for members/$10.00 for non-members for 2 hour open gym. Everyone has loads of fun and it is a great place to run off some energy.
2010 – 2011 Make-Up Procedure: - Every student may have one make up class per month during the school year. Stop in the office after you miss your regular class so that we can verify your absence. We will then issue a make up pass for you to use at the time of the make up. We can schedule a make up class in a class of the same level on a different day provided there is space available. Make ups will need to be completed within 4 weeks of the missed class – it’s better for your child to have consistent training. There are no make ups available for holidays in which J.E.T.S. is closed as those are figured in the annual tuition. During December every year this procedure is opened up to unlimited make-ups. We understand the busy schedules that happen during the holiday season so we want to help with that in any way we can. Due to consistency, posters are utilized by your child’s regular coach only, therefore will not be used for make ups. The best thing you can give your child to help him/her progress is “routine” and “consistency”. Please try your best to attend your child’s regularly scheduled classes on a consistent basis.
Reminder on Safety: Parents with small children are welcome to use the “sibling room” on the lower level next to the “preschool room” to occupy an “active sibling”. We have provided an area for them to play so they enjoy their time here. Please remember, though we have provided this area for play, you are still responsible to monitor their behavior and are responsible for them. In addition siblings are welcome in the common areas, however please refrain from having them sit on ramp railings, stair railings or counter tops. For their safety please remind all students and siblings to “walk” in all common areas including the “fun to run on ramp”. Please always remember: SAFETY FIRST AT J.E.T.S.
Don’t forget the Annual J.E.T.S. Halloween Party – Oct 30th from 6pm to 10pm ~ Costumes, Piñata’s, Games, Gymnastics Fun, Halloween Treats, Music and much more. Join us for a fun Halloween Extravaganza. You will want to sign up early to reserve your spot. This hugely popular event fills up fast and will sell out. We look forward to seeing you there!!! Sign ups are now available. Cost for this great annual event is $20.00 for members/$23.00 non-members.
“No School, Where do I take the kids?” – Bring them to J.E.T.S.!!!!!!!!! Throughout the school year J.E.T.S. will have day camps on non-school days for students. We will have many events throughout the year such as: “Super Hero Camp” during M.E.A., “Pirates and Princess Day Camp” during winter break etc. Activities will include, gymnastics fun, open gym, crafts, games and much more. Each “camp program” will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m. The first camp coming up is “Super Hero Camp” during MEA .(Oct 21st & 22nd) Students have the option for this one to come one or both days. Cost for one day is $20 for members, $23.00 for non members. Both days the cost is $38.00 for members, $43.00 for non-members. Watch the bulletin boards and the newsletters for more information regarding these camps. If you have any questions feel free to stop by the office or give us a call. Discounts on Tuition are available – You are able to receive a 10% discount on tuition when it is paid on an annual basis. A 5% discount is also available when tuition is paid in 6 month increments. Tuition may be paid monthly, every two months or quarterly as well (discounts do not apply), whichever is convenient for you. If you have any questions regarding tuition discounts please stop by the J.E.T.S. office for details. Please note that the new rates went into effect Sept. 1st, 2010. A copy of the rates is in the rack by the office.
Reminder of Tuition Policy for Preschool & Recreational Classes – Payment Box is available outside the J.E.T.S. office:
Tuition must be received the last class of the month, prior to the month it is due. If tuition is not received by that day you may run the risk of losing the students place in the class. To ensure accurate attendance, accuracy of progression posters, coaches tracking etc. and to maximize your child’s experience it is imperative our coaches have accurate counts and attendance for each class. This process begins with registration and then payment of tuition for the class. If the tuition has not been paid prior to the 1st of each month when your child’s coach creates their class list they will not be on included on the attendance roster for their first class of the month. This situation is uncomfortable for students and coaches so please ensure your tuition is paid prior to the start of class. Monthly auto pay with your credit card or debit card is available if it is more convenient for you as well. Reminder, if tuition is not received by the last day of the month, there is a $5.00 late fee charged.
J.E.T.S. Birthday Parties: J.E.T.S. is a great place to have a birthday party. Our parties are all inclusive!!!!! We do it all!!! J.E.T.S. Birthday parties are designed for ages 3 and up and are 1 ½ hrs long giving your group the full use of our gym with a party facilitator. Mom & Dad can just sit back and enjoy the party instead of worrying if everything is done, when everything is done etc. Leave it all to us!!!!!!!!!! J.E.T.S. provides the invitations; we mail them out for you. We provide the cake & ice cream, gift bags for guests, balloons, decoration, the games, organized and free play fun. If you have a birthday girl or birthday boy coming soon, think about J.E.T.S. for a great birthday party!!!!!!!!!!! Stop by the office and reserve your day!!! We are now offering birthday parties for children 3 and up. Younger children (3 year olds) will be in the preschool room.
